Germany, France and Italy temporarily suspend use of AstraZeneca vaccine

France and Germany have joined Italy in the growing list of countries to suspend their rollouts of the AstraZeneca vaccine, amid fears over blood clots.

But officials in the UK, as well as the World Health Organisation, say there’s no evidence of any link to clots and it’s important for vaccinations to continue.

The latest 24-hour government figures show a further 64 people are reported to have died with Covid, bringing the UK total to 125, 580.

There have been another five thousand new cases in the UK.

And another 250,000 people received their first dose of the Covid vaccine yesterday.

Almost 24.5 million people have now received their first dose of a vaccine.
