Gaza protests: Thousands attend pro-Palestinian London demo

Foreign Affairs Correspondent

Thousands of protesters march through London calling for an end to Israeli military action in Gaza and demanding “justice and freedom” for Palestine.

They gathered at midday on Whitehall. Estimates of demonstrators ranged from 15,000 to 100,000. It took them over 30 minutes to pass Nelson’s column. The rallying point was the Israeli embassy in Knightsbridge.

The rallying call, according to Sarah Colborne, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign:

“Today’s national demonstration will give people from across the country the chance to say enough is enough, Israel’s siege of Gaza and its occupation of Palestinian land has to end now.”
