Frustration mounts as China hits record number of new Covid cases

To China now, where over 31,000 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded today – the highest number there since the pandemic began.

In response, the ruling Communist party has extended its strict lockdown measures designed to isolate and eradicate the virus, fueling frustration in a country where many had tentatively hoped zero-covid policies were coming to an end.
