A £2.5m donation to the London Fire Brigade to buy two high ladder vehicles after the Grenfell Tower Fire has come under scrutiny, after it emerged the cash came from the Freemasons.
Members of the Fire Brigades Union say it’s unacceptable that a secretive charitable organisation should be paying for life-saving equipment.
The donation comes with a condition too: the new trucks will be adorned with the square and compass, the universal symbol of Freemasonry.
