Former England player Cyrille Regis dies at 59

Senior Home Affairs Correspondent

Tributes have been paid to the former England footballer Cyrille Regis,  who’s died aged 59 after a cardiac arrest. Regis, who won five caps for England, was a pioneer for black players in the late 1970s. The Professional Footballers’ Association called him a “true gentleman and a legend”, who would be deeply missed.
