Fire Brigades Union criticises ‘absurd’ questioning of chief

The Fire Brigades Union has criticised the Grenfell Tower fire inquiry for what it called an “absurd” line of questioning of the man in charge on the ground at the start of the fire. Giving evidence for a third day, watch manager Michael Dowden told the inquiry there were moments when he “felt helpless” because the situation was “relentless”. The judge leading the inquiry thanked him for his candour.
