Fears raised over cancer care at NHS hospital

If there is one totemic service that remains sacrosanct in any NHS crisis it is cancer care. But staff shortages at one specialist hospital have become so acute, they’re warning it could even consider cutting back or delaying cancer treatments. This is according to a leaked memo from a senior doctor at Oxford’s Churchill Hospital. Officials there say no changes to chemotherapy treatment have been made, or plan to be before thorough consideration. But is this a reflection of the huge pressures which hospitals are having to cope with?
