Fears grow for Iranian climber who competed without hijab

Fears are growing for the safety of the Iranian climber Elnaz Rekabi – who took part in a competition in South Korea without wearing a hijab – contravening Iran’s strict laws.

Friends said they had been unable to contact her, amid reports that her passport and mobile phone had been confiscated and she was on her way back to Tehran.
