In Sweden, the increased vote for the nationalist Sweden Democrats has shifted the political landscape for the two traditional political blocs who are trying to form a coalition government.
The general election result has left the Social Democrats and Alliance Party neck and neck with around 40 per cent of the vote. The far-right SD took an additional 13 seats, mirroring the recent rise in support for anti-immigration parties across Europe.
