Foreign Affairs Correspondent

Ministers had warned the supply of vaccines could be “lumpy”. But there are concerns the government could miss its ambitious target to vaccinate almost 14 million people by the middle of next month, after the number of people getting the jab fell below 300,000 for the third time in four days.

The latest 24-hour government figures show a further 1,239 people have died with Covid, bringing the total UK deaths to 103,126.

There have been another 28,680 new cases in the UK.

A lower than expected 282,812 people received their first dose of the Covid vaccine yesterday and 7.5 million people have now received their first dose of a vaccine.

Hospitals across the country are still struggling with huge numbers of Covid patients, putting staff under unimaginable stress.

We report from Craigavon Area hospital – at the epicentre of Northern Ireland’s Covid crisis.
