EU won’t OK Brexit without backstop, says Ireland

The European Union will not ratify a Brexit deal which doesn’t include a backstop to prevent the return of a hard border between Northern Ireland and the Republic, Ireland’s deputy Prime Minister has insisted, again.

And that won’t help Theresa May’s efforts to get her deal through Parliament by getting further concessions from the EU on the Irish border issue.
