EU leaders back May over Russia

European Union leaders have backed Theresa May’s tough line against Russia in the wake of the Salisbury nerve agent attack. They agreed that there was no plausible explanation for the poisonings except Russian state involvement.

There was plenty more on the summit agenda. The EU leaders confirmed the details of the Brexit transition deal and discussed Donald Trump’s steel tariffs, but it’s still not clear whether a trade war has been avoided or simply postponed.
