Errors and omissions to blame for NI ‘cash for ash’ scandal, says inquiry

It was dubbed the ‘cash for ash’ scandal, but today an inquiry into how politicians in charge of a green energy scheme in Northern Ireland, that paid out more than it cost to run, found no individuals were to blame.

Instead responsibility for the scheme, which potentially cost the taxpayer nearly half a billion pounds, was shared by a wide range of people and public bodies.
