Employers told they will have to contribute more to staff furlough scheme

The government could be paying the wages of millions of workers for months to come.

The Chancellor announced he’s extending the Job Retention Scheme until the end of October, but employers will be expected to contribute more.

Some, in sectors like hospitality, are warning that the multi-billion pound package is not enough – and that they face a choice between sacking staff or going to the wall.
