A woman shot dead outside a Merseyside pub on Christmas Eve was a “wholly innocent” victim of a feud, a court heard today.
The family of Ellie Edwards were in attendance as the trial of the man accused of her murder – 23-year-old Connor Chapman – got underway in Liverpool.
Prosecutors allege he opened fire on the 26-year-old beautician with a sub-machine gun, as she stood with the intended targets.
Chapman denies the charges.
