Election: the generation gap

We’re in Wolverhampton, in a seat that was predicted to go to the Conservatives. But not only did Labour retain it, it increased its majority – a trend seen across the country, especially in university towns like this one. Both main parties aimed policies at righting the disparity across the generations, from Labour’s pledge to scrap university fees, to the disastrous Conservative launch of the so-called dementia tax.
