Ebola outbreak in DR Congo declared public health emergency

Health and Social Care Correspondent

The World Health¬†Organisation¬†has tonight declared that the spread of Ebola to the Democratic Republic of Congo is a “public health emergency of international concern”.

The announcement comes after the death of a man from Ebola in Goma, a major city in DRC.

While health workers on the ground fight to contain what is now the second largest outbreak of the disease, aid workers say it is at a critical juncture with fears that it could continue to spread.
