Sinn Féin’s deputy leader Michelle O’Neill though took the opposite view, insisting that Northern Ireland “can’t withstand” being excluded from the customs union and the single market – accusing the Government of “playing fast and loose with our livelihoods.”
Whatever the outcome there is so much at stake on the Island of Ireland.
