Dozens of Hong Kong pro-democracy activists charged with subversion

Hundreds of pro-democracy protesters have gathered outside a Hong Kong court where 47 activists were facing charges of conspiracy to commit subversion. Police warned the crowd they could be fined if they failed to disperse.
The activists face up to life in prison if they’re convicted under the territory’s sweeping national security law. They’re being accused of organising unofficial primary elections for Hong Kong’s legislature last year.
