Soldier Ben Parkinson lost both his legs and suffered more than 40 injures when his Land Rover hit a mine in Afghanistan in 2006.   Today his recovery from that horrific ordeal and his charity work were honoured in his home town. Doncaster Council awarded him the freedom of the town in recognition of his “bravery, fighting spirit and his ability to inspire”.
