Do virus deaths highlight social inequalities around BAME people?

Doctors are calling for an urgent investigation into whether black, Asian and minority ethnic people are disproportionately affected by coronavirus.

The organisation said it was “extremely disturbing and worrying” that the first ten doctors named as having died with the virus were all from BAME backgrounds.

There’s also a concern that the virus’s victims may be highlighting deeper social and economic inequalities.
