Covid: what started in India, won’t stay in India

Do we need to be more concerned about the variant of Covid-19 that is causing havoc in India?

Bodies are washing up on the shores of the Ganges. This sacred river, the lifeblood of India, now a sign of the death that flows through the subcontinent as the deadly second wave of coronavirus continues – with the end still nowhere in sight.

Yet still there is no national lockdown.

In today’s episode, we look at the ongoing tragedy in India, ask the government why they didn’t see this coming, and how this surge in India is spreading to neighbouring countries – and bringing a variant to the UK’s shores too.
