India has recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases seen anywhere in the world in a single day.
Nearly 315,000 new infections have been reported in the last 24 hours, as the country continues to struggle with a second wave far deadlier than the first.
Hospitals in the capital New Delhi reported critical oxygen shortages.
The daily death toll also reached new highs and the pressure on the healthcare system is unlikely to recede soon.
