Could author Kevin Jared Hosein’s new book be in for the Booker Prize?

It’s been described as astonishing and deeply impressive by the late author Hilary Mantel.

The debut adult novel Hungry Ghosts by Trinidadian author and biology school teacher Kevin Jared Hosein, is being mentioned as a possible early contender for this year’s Booker Prize.

We spoke to Kevin while he was on a short trip to London and began by asking him about how his own family history of being indentured labourers became the inspiration for the book.
