Cost of living forces domestic violence victims to stay with abusers

The cost of living crisis has left women facing an ‘impossible choice’ between staying with a domestic abuser and destitution – according to a new report by a group of charities into what they call ‘an epidemic of male violence’.

Nearly three quarters of the survivors interviewed by the End Violence Against Women Coalition said that financial pressures had either prevented them from leaving a perpetrator, or made it harder to do so.
