Coronavirus ‘major breakthrough’ – cheap drug reduces deaths among sickest

It is a “major breakthrough” that can significantly reduce deaths among the very sickest of Covid-19 patients.

It’s not often during this crisis that we have been able to bring you good news, but today a UK drug trial has announced that a common steroid called dexamethasone, that costs just £5 for an entire course of treatment, has been shown to cut the risk of death by a third for Covid patients on ventilators.
