COP26 climate summit begins in Glasgow

As the conference formally began here on the banks of the Clyde, hundreds of passengers hoping to travel to the climate summit by train were stranded after a tree fell on the tracks halting services from London.

In Glasgow itself the UK’s grassroots climate justice movement, the COP26 Coalition held an opening ceremony with activists, young people and trade unions from around the globe.
