Conservatives appeal for unity after worst local election loss since 1995

On the one hand – an appeal for Tory unity – and senior ministers calling for a compromise with Labour to make sure Brexit is delivered. But at the same time – former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith is telling Theresa May it’s time to go. All this after the Tories’ worst local election result since 1995 with the loss of more than 1300 council seats.

But at the same time – former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith is telling Theresa May it’s time to go. All this after the Tories’ worst local election result since 1995 with the loss of more than 1300 council seats – with tensions out in the open at the party’s Welsh conference in Llangollen.
