Club owner launches legal challenge against government over 10pm curfew

More than 5,000 jobs here are being hit by Cineworld’s decision to temporarily close its cinemas in the UK and the US – affecting up to 45,000 employees worldwide.

The firm said it had been left with no choice after many blockbuster movie releases were delayed. It’s a dilemma reflected across the country’s night time economy with venues like theatres and nightclubs unable to re-open in any sustainable way.

One London club owner has now mounted a legal challenge against the Government’s 10pm curfew – saying it made “absolutely no sense”.
