China sends paramilitary police to the Hong Kong border amid escalating protests

Donald Trump has urged the Chinese President to personally meet with protestors in Hong Kong, after weeks of violent clashes between the police and demonstrators calling for democratic reforms. China has sent its paramilitary police force to the border and today the Chinese Ambassador to the UK said his government “would not sit on its hands” if the situation deteriorates.
