Chief Inspector of Constabulary: Justice system ‘dysfunctional and defective’

As we’ve heard, Boris Johnson is promising to recruit another twenty thousand police officers if he becomes Prime Minister.

That’s been broadly welcomed by the chief inspector of constabulary Sir Thomas Winsor whose damning assessment of policing today suggested that criminals feel “immune” on Britain’s streets and that the justice system has become “dysfunctional and defective.”
