Chemnitz on edge after wave of violence

There is uncertainty and fear on both sides, the mayor of Chemnitz has admitted, as the eastern German city remains on edge following a wave of racist violence.

But Barbara Ludwig insisted the city is safe for everyone. Far-right demonstrators, many clad in black, have been attacking foreigners and clashing with police and counter-protesters since the death of a local man who was allegedly stabbed by two migrants.
