Charles Bronson tells parole hearing he is an ‘angel’ in bid for freedom

Now, one of Britain’s longest serving prisoners Charles Bronson has urged a parole hearing to free him from prison after almost half a century behind bars.

First jailed for armed robbery in 1974,  his original seven-year sentence was repeatedly extended because of his violent attacks on prison staff and fellow inmates. Now Bronson claims he’s a changed man and today he became only the second inmate ever to have his case heard in public.
