Carl Sargeant’s son selected by Labour to contest by-election

Last November, Welsh politics was shaken by the sudden death of assembly member Carl Sargeant. He’d apparently taken his own life following accusations of sexual harassment.

The death of the Labour politician triggered a by-election. Among the candidates campaigning for the North Wales constituency of Alyn and Deeside is Carl Sargeant’s son, Jack, who has been selected by Labour to stand in next week’s by-election.
