Care regulator identifies failings at East Dunbartonshire care home amidst Covid outbreak

Data Correspondent and Presenter

Care homes bore the brunt of the first wave of the pandemic, and tragically there have been more fatal outbreaks among residents this winter – if not quite at the levels seen in the spring.

In the last comparable week of data, deaths in care homes accounted for more than a quarter of all Covid-related deaths in Scotland, and almost a fifth in England and Wales.

In East Dunbartonshire, the care regulator has identified failings at a home, amid an outbreak which has so far claimed the lives of 14 residents.
