Campaigners seek to turn disused Victorian tunnel in Yorkshire into cycleway

“Breathtakingly bonkers”. That’s how a decision to fill in one of the UK’s longest railway tunnels is being described – by campaigners trying to save it. Rival plans for Queensbury tunnel in Yorkshire could see it turned into the longest underground cycle way in Europe – something the Transport Secretary wants – if possible.
