Energy price rises looking likely across the big six suppliers

One of the big six energy companies – Scottish and Southern Energy – is to put up its prices by an average of 8.2 per cent from next month.  SSE – the UK’s second largest supplier – said that many of its costs  – the wholesale price, delivery and government taxes – were beyond its control.

It now looks likely that the other suppliers could follow suit.
