Eurozone should get on with it

G20 delegates are going to bed as the UK wakes up … talking about the possibility that Angela Merkel might say something a bit more pro-active than the bland communiqué conclusions leaked yesterday.

We shall see. There was a sense that this G20 was even darker in mood than Cannes. A sense too that the meetings were even more united.

Bob Zoellick, de-mob happy out-going head of the World Bank, was the most direct in criticising the eurozone countries.

In the main G20 session, he told them to get on with it and reminded them in fairly undiplomatic language of the damage they were inflicting on the world economy.
