Britain’s seabirds under threat from bird flu

Seabirds off England’s northeast coast are once again under threat by avian flu.

Last year at least six thousand birds were found dead, among them puffins and razorbills, and rangers fear a repeat of the mass deaths this year.

The Farne Islands, which are off the Northumberland coast, make up one of the UK’s most important seabird sanctuaries.
