Boris Johnson warned he may lose legal funding for Covid inquiry

The three-way divisions between the government, Boris Johnson and the Covid inquiry appear to have widened with the former Prime Minister being warned that he could lose public funding for his legal defence.

He has been told that financial support won’t be available if he tries to “frustrate or undermine” the government’s position on the inquiry.

But Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick insisted that the threat did not mean that the Government will restrict what Boris Johnson can say to the Covid-19 inquiry.
