Biden tells Putin: ‘We need basic rules of road we can all abide by’

A “frank and candid discussion” was how Vladimir Putin described today’s summit talks in Geneva with President Biden, claiming there had been no hostility between the two leaders.

As for Mr Biden, in a separate press conference held down the road, he declared “I did what I came to do”, stressing that human rights would always be on the table and warning that if opposition leader Alexei Navalny died in jail, the consequences for Russia would be “devastating”.
