It could be a scene from Only Fools and Horses – but the man dressed in the Batman costume was apparently serious about fighting crime.

Surveillance cameras recorded the moment the anonymous vigilante called at Trafalgar House police station in Bradford in the early hours of 25 February.

Lean and mean: police say they do not know the identity of the costumed vigilante.

He handed over a 27-year-old man, who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary, fraud and breach of a court order.

The man was later charged with handling stolen goods and fraud-related offences and is due to appear before Bradford magistrates’ court on Friday.

The person who brought the wanted man into the station was dressed in a full Batman outfit. His identity, however, remains unknown. Bradford Police
