Bashy releases first album in 15 years: ‘Being Poor is Expensive’

He’s a former bus driver and postman who became one of the pioneers of UK rap before heading to Hollywood and a series of film and television roles.

Now Ashley Thomas, also known as Bashy, is back with ‘Being Poor is Expensive’, his first album in fifteen years.

Jackie Long has been talking to him about Windrush, mental health and the long road from north-west London to celebrity.
