Barnier warning over transition

A transition period after Brexit is not a done deal. That’s the stern warning from the EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier, who’s been talking of “substantial disagreements” with Britain over issues like citizens’ rights and customs checks on the Irish border after Brexit, which he says will be “unavoidable”.

So where does this leave the government’s plans for a two-year adjustment process for businesses?
