Barclays profits up

Barclays profits have surged to 182 per cent higher than the year before – reaching 3.2 billion pounds in 2016. The bank says its traders cashed in on market volatility following the Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s election. But it has warned that the threat of US action over past possible misconduct there still looms over the business.
