Ofsted: Haringey still failing children

Inspectors say vulnerable children are still not being protected from abuse in the London borough of Haringey, where Baby Peter died. Andy Davies reports.

This comes six months after a damning report condemned child protection in Haringey as inadequate.

An Ofsted report published today said despite some improvements, the council had only made limited progress, with managers overstretched and social workers overloaded with casework.

Inspectors said that meant some children were being left at risk.
