Cut off in the Big Brother house, the show's contestants will have little idea about the frenzy their comments about fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty are continuing to generate outside.
Concern that the Bollywood actress is the subject of racist bullying today reached prime minister's questions, drew condemnation from Gordon Brown on his visit to India, and sparked street protests on the subcontinent.
The media regulator Ofcom says it's received a record number of complaints.
Yet Channel 4 has tonight insisted there's been no overt racial abuse or racist behaviour. Instead, it claims there has been what they call a "culture and class clash".
