Sats fiasco lingers on

Teaching unions defend the exam watchdog's chief executive ahead of a report into the Sats shambles.

Teaching unions have today rallied to defend the chief executive of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority Dr Ken Boston, who announced last night his resignation as head of the exams watchdog.

His decision to quit comes ahead of what's expected to be a highly critical report into the delays in marking hundreds of thousands of SATS tests last summer.
