The inclusion of negative marks, as well as plus points, for political activity is raising eyebrows.
Freedom of speech and the right to protest is a mark of citizenship in our democracy.
And until now, newcomers to our island were virtually assured they too could become British as long as they had been here legally for five years, working and paying taxes.
But the latest proposed changes to the immigration system mean would-be citizens will have to earn enough points gained through skills, qualifications and even volunteering.
But any bad behaviour and their 'points' will be docked.
