Mariah Carey's radical departure into gritty realism is winning over the critics at the Cannes film festival. Stephanie West reports.
Best known for being a Grammy award-winning singer, with a huge entourage of stylists and beauticians, Mariah Carey, has ditched the make-up for a gritty new film.
Called Precious, a grim tale of a teenage girl, abused by her father in Harlem, the movie is causing a stir in Cannes and has already won awards elsewhere.
